Veterinary Diagnostic Centers
Veterinary Diagnostic Centers uses state-of-the-art ultrasound imaging technology, which allows us to safely see inside your pet without invasive procedures, anesthesia, or radiation. When you bring your pet to us, our team will coordinate with your regular veterinarian to provide optimal care and communication. We specialize in services such as veterinary ultrasounds, echocardiograms, and blood tests.
Our Process
In just four easy steps, we get the information your primary veterinary needs to provide the best treatment for your pet in a timely manner.
Referring veterinarian refers the patient to us and provides a medical record.
We perform an ultrasound study and collect any lab samples requested by your veterinarian.
We compile and transmit the pertinent images and information to a remote specialist.
Once the report is final, our veterinarian calls you to discuss it, then sends it on to your veterinarian.
Referring Vets — we work for your vet, with you.
We proudly partner with your veterinarian to ensure that the imaging and diagnostics they request for their patients are done promptly and professionally. Once the diagnostic tests are complete, we'll provide your veterinarian with the results and specialist recommendations.

Laboratory Tests
Great experience, start to finish. Everyone is patient, kind, and thorough. You’re allowed to accompany your pet during the procedure which is huge - I’ve never seen my dog so relaxed in a veterinary facility. The technicians are phenomenal, too! Quick turnaround on results and both the report and the phone call are very detailed and well-explained. Ultrasound reports are reviewed by a board-certified internal medicine specialist and are sent directly to your veterinarian as well. Can’t recommend them highly enough!
My elderly cat got TLC during his ultrasound appointment. Their gentle, fear-free approach was appreciated. I’m a level three certified fear free veterinarian (retired) so I know what to look for. They got us in quickly and took the time needed to get a good history.

Absolutely flawless experience. We had an emergency need for an ultrasound on our 14-year-old cat and managed to get a same day appointment. The staff were extremely friendly, caring, and professional. The results were processed quickly and I received a call from the DVM within 4 hours. The facility is spotlessly clean and welcoming, the ability to sit with our cat through the procedure was great, really helped us to relax. Again, I cannot praise the staff highly enough. I would not go anywhere else for my imaging needs.

Before scheduling with Veterinary Diagnostic Centers I read the Google reviews and was skeptical that they had all these 5-star rave reviews, so I vowed to add to the list if my experience was also as great as others had claimed. And guess what...it's real! I've been to many veterinarians in Chicago and this is about as good as it gets, especially for specialty care. Not only was the price about half of what other places charge for an ultrasound, they were easy to schedule with, super kind, very up front about pricing and all it includes, and quick to call me with a thorough explanation of the results the following day! I went to the location on Irving Park Rd. and it is a quiet, calming environment with super friendly staff-people. They were so sweet to my anxious Chihuahua and made us both feel well taken care of.
